Oh, and episode 10 of our podcast, The Random Pirate Comics Show, is now available for download, or you can always subscribe via iTunes if that strikes your fancy. You can even email the show and we'll (probably) read your letter on the air!

Character Page
Jonah - April 23rd, 2008

Jeremy's art + Geoffio's programming + me writing some stuff = We finally have a cast page for Here There be Robots!
Go check it out!

Issue 3 Now Available
Jonah - April 3rd, 2008

I'm happy to announce that the third issue of Here There be Robots is now available in print through Indy Planet!
Please leave us a review if you get the chance.

Issue 3 Cover
Jonah - March 12th, 2008

Good news, everybody!
I just got word that the preview copy of issue 3 has shipped! Once I get a chance to approve look it over, I'll be ordering copies for the con. We decided to go with Ka-Blam! this time around on a recommendation from our Nightgig buddies. Once that goes live, you'll be able to order the issue right from their online comic site, Indy Planet.

Here is the full version of the cover to issue 3 for your enjoyment.

All Apologies
Jonah - February 17th, 2008

My sincere apologies to our readers. I just noticed that, while I got the last page all ready to update way back on the sixth, I never actually uploaded the pages. I think it was really late and I was tired, that's the only excuse I can think of.

On a different note, I just finished watching the first episode of Cinematic Titanic, the new project by MST3k creator Joel Hodgeson. I have to say it's just as good of a show, though I do miss the bots.

The much awaited end of Issue #3
Jeremy - February 6th, 2008

Well, it was a long time coming, but here is the last page of Here There Be Robots, Issue #3. Toward the end we realized this issue would be longer than we initially planned, but that's okay; the ten extra pages really gave the finale room to breathe and the epilogue helped to set up the adventures to come, so we wouldn't have it any other way.

I still have the wrap-around cover to finish, so that will keep me busy, as well as the new developments on our website: HereThereBeRobots.com. I'm currently working on graphics we will use to make that site a fun, colorful stop for all HTBR fans. One of the great benefits of the new site is that it is so much easier to update and maintain. Even I can use it! And that means more content, updated more often, and who doesn't like that?

We'll keep you posted as things develop! Thanks for reading!

Epilogue - Page 2
Jonah - January 22nd, 2008

Jeremy and I have figured out the rest of issue 3, and it looks like we only have 2 pages to go!

In other RPC news, Here There be Robots is getting it's own site. A basic version is up right now, but Geoffio is working on customizing the awesome-tastic Comicpress plugin for Wordpress to give us a totally rockin' site.

In sucky news, the company I work for has decided to downsize. We aren't talking a few layoffs either. We're talking cutting back to only one or two offices on the east coast when there was formerly a branch in most of the states.
So, I'm currently looking for a new day job. I have a few leeds, but nothing confirmed as of yet. I'll keep you posted.

RPC Show #7 - Undying Love
Jonah - January 14th, 2008

Stop the presses! Jonah actually finished a game!

This episode Jonah (aka spambot) gives his review of Bioshock, Jesse (Mainfinger) shares a groovin’ song from Zelda 2 and Geoffio continues to be awesome.

We also laugh, share and even cry along with our new favorite super hero Black Cougar.

News Flash: Issue #3 last page done! And yet there's more! Pages, that is!
Jeremy - January 3rd, 2008

In other words, this issue has an epilogue as well; a little something extra to round out the end of the story arc and set the stage for the next one.
As for this page (page 35), I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's one of those rare pages that came out exactly how I wanted it to. Before I even started on this series, I did a lot of studying up on pirate history and pirate art. I love slipping little references in just to reward those who have also done their studying on the subject. Panel 2 is one of those references...

Enjoy the page, and thanks for reading!

RPC Show #6 - "This is the Collection Adjency!"
Jonah - January 3rd, 2008

Howdy ya'll! Gather 'round and here a tale of a Street Fighter named Van Damme, a song about a Snake Man, and a little ol' piece of our minds on the good, the bad, and the ugly from them here vidja games in 2007. Yee-haw!

Jonah - December 26th, 2007

Success? For evil robots!?
This issue is winding down, but don't fret, there are still a few pages to go!

On a completely different note, SpaceWaffles.com is now up and running, and will be the home of the webcomic Space Waffles, as well as my main blog. Go check it out.

RPC Show #5 - I'll Bash Him Brutally!
Jonah - December 18th, 2007

Out fifth excursion into the breach is nothing short of an epic tale of two grown men, fully deputized by the law, who fight master criminals in their tights. The haunting sounds of Metroid Prime 2 fill the room, and we also discuss what it takes to be in a fake rock and/or roll band. Don’t miss it!

Also, Space Waffles #20, as drawn by Mister Colin P., is up at the new home of the comic, Spacewaffles.com.

Page 33: Done (and stuff)
Jeremy - December 14th, 2007

Well, page 33 is freshly dig-inked and that's one page closer to the end of this issue (which I assure you is coming... some... day).

I don't have a lot of time to work on other projects, but here's a little something I did get to contribute on not too long ago. The contest is best described on the site itself so check it out at fistacuffs.blogspot.com. I drew the Loch Ness Mobster. The other two awesomely talented artists, Colin Panetta and Brandon Dawley, did all the hard work, creating the theme and drawing the other two characters, as well as the "smak-talk" illustration featuring all three characters (which can be found on Colin's blog: colinpee.blogspot.com. Brandon's blog is: bldawley.blogspot.com).
We didn't win the contest, or even remain in it for more than a fleeting moment, but it was fun while it lasted. Thanks again, guys.

Page 32 and Show #4
Jonah - December 4th, 2007

Since we were snowed in on Saturday and Sunday, Jeremy was able to finish page 32 a little ahead of schedule, which is always cool for everyone else.

We also just posted the lastest episode of the podcast, where we talk to our good friend Dave about Castlevania games, and also discuss Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero.

Well, I'm off to play some more Mass Effect and stay away from the snow and flooding that's been going on around here!

Podcast Announcement
Jonah - November 29th, 2007

Thanks for being patient!
Things have been crazy for both Jeremy and I, and we really appreciate everyone sticking with us when we have to have our little hiatus's.

I also wanted to announce that The Random Pirate Comics Show is now Bi-Weekly. The next episode will be out this Monday, December 3rd. We'll be talking Castlevania games and Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero.
Be sure to send us your questions, suggestions and feedback to randompiratecomics@gmail.com or post in the Podcast's forum.

I've been playing some Mass Effect lately, and in true Bioware tradition, the story keeps you playing. I always find that my natural choice during conversations is the play the good guy, but honestly, I'm looking forward to starting my second play through as the bad dude.

I'll Turn You Into Accountants!
Jonah - November 19th, 2007

The third episode of our Podcast, The Random Pirate Comics Show, is now available for download.

Our brave warriors face off agains Mario. The Games, the cartoons, the lifestyle.
Jesse shares a song from his new album.
And we all learn a little something about love.
Plus lots of goofy clips from "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3", the cartoon. Even Millie Vanillie.
All this and/or more, on our third episode.

Deep Thought on Page 30
Jeremy - November 15th, 2007

I've been wanting to do a page that has some sentimental impact, since we've tried to make HTBR a comic that works on many levels. The characters may be wacky at times, but they have depth to them as well.

Back when we first started the comic, we brainstormed some loose back-story ideas to make the characters more well-rounded from the start. The situation in Page 30 seemed like a perfect time to creatively show you just a glimpse of some of those ideas...

Enjoy!

Getting a Cat is Pricey
Jonah - November 15th, 2007

We recently got a cat, which was a saga in itself. But now we're doing the deposit, etc. and it can get pretty expensive. Keep that in mind when you bug your parents for a pet, kids!

I also wanted to remind everyone that the second episode of The Random Pirate Comics Show: "A Really BIG Piece", is now available for download.
Don't forget you can email us your questions/comments/etc. and you can even send us audio comments if you like.
Oh, and we are not up on iTunes, so you can subscribe there as well. Please rate/review us!

Killing Machines, SW Style
Jonah - November 9th, 2007

Oh, those adorable killing machines.

So I made up a little sample of clips of the first episode, which you can get here.

I also found that someone made a very fun flash version of Portal. They've taken the idea and made it 2d. Good stuff.

The Random Pirate Comics Show
Jonah - November 5th, 2007

Episode 1 of our Podcast, The Random Pirate Comics Show, is now live at Talkshoe. If it worked correctly, you can stream it in the right sidebar thingy.
You can also book mark it in you favorite reader from the Talkshoe page.
It's in now for iTunes approval, so hopefully it will be in the iTunes store soon as a free download.

Here's the breakdown of the episode:
Episode 1 - "What's the Present?"
"In our first episode we talk about Megaman ZX: Advent, Halo 3, Final Fantasy 7, Jesse and Geoffio share a song from their joint project, and we also discuss the 1989 "classic" cartoon The Legend of Zelda: The Animated Series."

If you have any questions, comments, or whatever for us, send it to randompiratecomics@gmail.com. And please leave us your reviews on Talkshoe.
Thanks for listening!

The Starskipper Appears
Jonah - November 3rd, 2007

The Starskipper from Here There be Robots has made it's first appearance in Kris Straub's Alterverse War!
If you are an HtbR fan and aren't already reading Starslip Crisis, you should really head over and do so.

I also have an announcement!
In conjunction with Jesse from Mainfinger.com, we're starting a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!
We'll be talking geek stuff; video games, music, movies, etc. as well as sharing our upcoming projects. Oh, and Geoffio too? What more could you ask for in a podcast related to this site?

Here's a link to the podcast's page on Talkshoe, and you can send any questions, comments, or whatever to the new email address of randompiratecomics@gmail.com.
Audio emails are welcome, just try to keep them short (about 30 seconds).
We're recording the first episode tomorrow, and will have it up some time next week.

SpaceWaffles.com Launched
Jonah - October 31st, 2007

Oscar's ability to focus on his work could lead our heroes to disaster. You'll see what I mean on the latest page.

Thanks to Mad Scott who has helped me set up the new Space Waffles sight (being hosted on Nightgig). You can now simply go to SpaceWaffles.com to get to the blog.
We're still working on getting the lastest comic to stay at the top of the page.

Page 27 Braves the Storm
Jeremy - October 21st, 2007

We had another windstorm here in the Seattle area. Not nearly as big as the one last year, but it did temporarily knock out a lot of the power here in town. We lost ours just for a second or two, but it was enough to shut off the computer just as I was finishing up the digital inking on the current page. Fortunately I try to remember to save as I go, so I didn't lose too much work.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the page. This final sequence is really going to be a fun one.

Long Overdue
Jonah - October 21st, 2007

My apologies to my friend, Colin. He sent us some rad fan arts which you may remember from awhile back. Until now, it had totally slipped my mind to add them to the fanart section. I have done so now. Also, go check out his blog for some other cool art and stuff.

We had a Heroes marathon on Saturday over at Mike's, trying to finally catch up on season one. We've made it through about the first 12 or so episodes.
I must say I'm enjoying the show a lot more this time around.
It may help that I'm not streaming them from nbc.com this time and that I have been watching them in order. My favorite character is Doctor Who.

It's a double update! The new Space Waffles is now up, as well as the latest page of Here There be Robots. Don't forget you can go post in the SW forum!

Sell Out!
Jonah - October 18th, 2007

Something out of left field; A new Pirate Bob & Jerry!
I've had the sketches done on this one for a long while, but I just got around to inking/coloring/lettering it.
I've also got the art done on the next Space Waffles, so I'll try to get that one done by the weekend.

I've been getting into the Extra Life Radio podcast a lot lately. Those guys crack me up. It's three geeks talking movies, tv, video games, etc. Basically right up my alley.

Speaking of podcasts, our good friends at The Gigcast are now part of Farpoint Media. Congrats!

I've been playing some Portal on Orange Box, which I must say is awesome. A first person puzzle sci-fi comedy? Heck yeah.
I just hope that Valve releases some expansions for the game through XBLA.

SW #16
Jonah - October 11th, 2007

Space Waffles the 16th is now up. That wacky Jenkins, what's he gotten himself into this time? Let us find out, won't you?

Finished the Fight
Jonah - October 10th, 2007

With the completion of page 26, Jeremy and I have realized that this issue will be longer than the last two. We were originally going to have the first 3 issues be 28 pages long, but we just have too much we wanted to stick at the end of issue 3, and we'd rather make the comic the best it can be that stick to some arbitrary number rule.

Anthony and I finished playing through Halo 3 on Co-Op last night. It was a pretty fun game, and even after finishing it I want to play more. This is a pretty rare occurrence for me. I usually don't finish games these days. Not that I don't want to, but most are way too long, or I lose motivation, or whatever.
Saturday we had a big LAN for Halo 3. It went really well and everyone had a great time. We did notice as the night progressed, online opponents became harder. I guess the dad playing with his kids aren't the ones up at 3am playing their Xbox.

Cold
Jonah - September 27th, 2007

What's this? A new Space Waffles?
I'm still having a bit of trouble getting Photoshop to install on the new computer, so I'm back to updating on the good old lappy. Good, slow old lappy... so slow...

Anyway, I briefly had a chance to play t3h Halos 3. So far, it seems pretty cool if you are into the whole console FPS thing. I like playing the genre in co-op, but have never been a big fan of the single player experience.

Brittany and I have recently been getting into audio books through Audible.com. Now that I'm all caught up on podcasts, I needed something else to listen to at work, and they are highly entertaining. I just finished listening to "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Presents: America: The Book: The Audiobook", which is narrated by Steven Colbert, read by Jon Stewart and has essays by many of the show's most popular correspondents. Highly recommended if you're a fan of political satire.

In Color!
Jonah - September 26th, 2007

I'm back from Disneyland and my I'll be posting my pics over on my Flickr page.

As a special treat, Jeremy has done a color version of page 24. It turned out awesome, though he and I still seem to be at odds about Oscar and Rob's skin color. I've always thought they should be more of a gray, but he's the artist, so I have been over-ruled!
Scandal!

Play-Asia's special of the week last week was the GBA version of Mother 3, the sequal to Mother 2 (aka the highly under-rated Earthbound), so I picked up a copy. The cover is very... red.

Anywho, how about that Halo 3, eh?
I haven't had a chance to play it but I've been hearing it's the bee's knees.

Score! Page 24!
Jeremy - September 11th, 2007

I may just have to think up an idiotic rhyme every time I finish drawing a page, so...be warned.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying our story as it hurtles ever closer to its conclusion. We're definitely having fun telling it. And when this issue does end, the story is really just getting started, epic tale that it is.

By the way, if you happen to be visiting our site for the first time via Starslip Crisis' Alterverse War, then welcome. Feel free to read through the archives and catch up on the adventure so far. And thanks to Kris for thinkin' up such a cool idea. It'll be fun just to be able to sit back and watch how it all unfolds.

Thanks for reading, everyone!

Altverse War
Jonah - August 31st, 2007

Kris Straub over at Starslip Crisis has just started a pretty cool project.
He's doing an alternate universe storyline with his characters where anything can happen, including crossover after crossover!
He's currently taking applications for other sci-fi comics with space ships to make guest appearances. I can't wait to see what he's come up with!

They've also started a new Podcast over on Halfpixel, and this one seems to be a very useful resource to those interested in making comics. It's called Webcomics Weekly, and is hosted by Straub, Kurtz, Kellett, and Guigar.

Through with Twenty-Two!
Jeremy - August 20th, 2007

Hey, ever'body. Page 22 is done. I'm still having a lot of fun digitally inking these things; it just gives you so many more options. In the last panel, for example, I didn't like where I had drawn all the little characters standing on the floor, so I used the lasso tool to corral the whole bunch of 'em and move the group forward. No erasing, no white-out or re-drawing; I love it. Those of you who have used Photoshop for years are going: "duh...", but remember: I am a caveman.
Anyway, this page is also exciting because it means the final 1/4 of issue #3 is now underway! I can almost see the finish line...just a little farther...

Space Waffles by Dan of UK
Jonah - August 16th, 2007

My apoligies to Dan for my lapse in memory. I updated the DD site with the latest Space Waffles that he drew, but updating the main site slipped my mind. Here are they are in all their glory!

Episode 12

Episode 13

I'm working on #14 now.

Minesweeper: The Movie
Jonah - August 10th, 2007

21 is up!

If video game movies were more like this or even this, I think the fans would be more apt to watch them.
Maybe not...

Speaking of videos on the intertubes, here's one I posted over on Youtube that a friend of mine made a long while back. It uses footage from The Power Rangers Movie, so you might get a kick out of it. Sound effects provided by yours truly.

Battle Royale (With Cheese)
Jonah - August 2nd, 2007

Page 20 of Here There be Robots #3 is up, and if you're a fan of the series you won't want to miss this one. I don't want to give anything away, but feel free to discuss over at the Space Waffles forum.

Speaking of, I've been a bit of a slacker with the updates, but I still don't have Photoshop functional on the main machine, and updating from the old laptop is a bit cumbersome. Mike assures me he still intends to help me remedy the situation.
The good news is, I've been doing a collaboration with my friend Dan, and it's going really well. He's on "holiday" right now, or as we say in Americatown, "vacation". You can check them out over on the Duck, or here on the site.

I'm also holding a design a logo contest for Space Waffles, the grand prize of which is a signed copy of The Map Incident, a set of our buttons, and a sticker (once we get them reprinted).

Oh, and we just found out that HtbR has been nominated for best Sci-Fi comic over on the newly formed Drunk Duck Awards. Thanks for the nomination everybody!

New Space Waffles
Jonah - July 27th, 2007

A few things really quick:

I'm doing some collaboration with Dan the Man Cartoons. The latest Space Waffles are up, but I haven't had time to update this, the main site, so you can find them on either the Drunk Duck Mirror, or the blog. Numbers 10 and 11 (and the upcoming 12) are drawn by Dan.
Keep watching Dan's comic, Anything Could Happen, for a few written by me.

Space Waffles is the newest member of the Nightgig family of comics!

The Gigcast, also part of the Nightgig family, has reached 100 episodes. Congrats guys!
You can get the episode from their site or from iTunes (free download either way). There is a quickie interview with me in the episode.

Have You Read the MiniComic?
Jeremy - July 19th, 2007

Page 19 is done and ready to consume.
What I like about this page is that it will be seen in two ways: Most HTBR readers might see the map the street urchin unfurls and think: "Okay, the kid's got a map. I wonder where he got it. I wonder where it really leads. Maybe I'll find out later in the story..."
But a select few HTBR readers already know where that map came from. They also know just where it leads and, what's more, they know the narrow escape it endured just to get to where it is now. How do these readers know this? They spent $2.00 to read the 12-page Here There Be Robots Minicomic #1.
Some of them bought it online, but most bought it at our convention appearances. It's not part of our archives because, well, there should always be a little buried treasure out there for the digging.
Of course, you don't have to read this "hidden" issue to follow the HTBR story, but studies show that you will be just a little bit cooler than everyone else if you do. And who am I to argue with studies?

Anyway, enjoy the page and have an awesome day.

Frankie B.
Jonah - June 24th, 2007

I'm currently watching Brittany play Paper Mario for the Wii, and the game looks crazy time.

The next Space Waffles is already in the works, so hopefully I'll get the photoshop issue that I've been having taken care of (namely that it won't install on the new computer).

XP vs. Vista
Jonah - June 19th, 2007

Oh man...

Ok, so I'm trying to set up my new compy to be dual boot with XP and Vista, and it's been a bit of a headache. Not just for me, but for Mike, who's been helping me out with it quite a bit.
We now are to the point where Vista is installed on the one hard drive and XP is on the other, but now that we have XP working, we can't seem to boot to Vista.
I'm not quite sure the problem, but Mike assures me he knows "what up".

The good news is, games and junk run way better under XP.
Non-games seem to run faster under Vista, but I have no factual data to back that up.

The bad news is, for some reason I can't get Photoshop to install, and I'm not really sure why. After a bunch of messing around I now have the Macromedia suite setup so I can update the site again, but no photoshop means I can't work on the next several Space Waffles that I've been wanting to get done, so I'm sorry about that.

In other news, Brittany and I just finished season 2 of Doctor Who, and man is that show crazy-awesome. The new doctor, number ten, is amazing at the role and ranks right up there with Tom Baker in my book.

Page 17 Finally Arrives
Jeremy - June 7th, 2007

Sorry about the late post. I'd been working a lot on another, more secretive HTBR project (you'll hear more on this later).
In the meantime, enjoy the page.
I gotta get back to work.

PSP Reviews
Jonah - June 4th, 2007

I did some quickie PSP game reviews over on my blog, if you're in to that sort of thing.
The system seems to have so much potential that it does little with. It's sad in it's way.

I know I've been a big slacker on my updates. I have no excuses, so today I drew and inked the next three, the first of which has been scanned and colored and is up now. The other two will be up when they are finished.

Jeremy has had some pretty big problems getting his internet connection to work at all, so he is in the process of switching providers. He assures me that the next page of HtbR is on the way.

Like I've said before, I'm bad at remembering to keep up on the webcomics I like. I've finally finished the Culture Shock archives, and I would consider the comic recommened reading if you like good art and funny comics with fish out of water situations, and I assume our HtbR readers like just that.

Our friend Mad Scott from Nightgig did a cool Rob fanart for us, which you can check out here. While you're add it, you should read his slice of life comic Mad Scott. It's good times.

Continuity Hounds Me
Jeremy - May 15th, 2007

So page 16 is finally done. I was going to make this page a quick one, but I ended up spending more time on this page than the last one. Gah!

One thing we strive for in the comic is continuity, even in the smallest of details. It's something we pride ourselves on and something a lot of our readers notice and appreciate. That's why, when I first drew Adam in his ridiculous disguise, I just...wasn't thinking.
Why did I have to draw that giant peacock feather in his hat?
Now, every time I think I've finished a page featuring the robots, I'm just about to send it off and-- oh, man! At least two panels are missing that stupid peacock feather! It's back to photoshop for me!
So from now on, if anyone notices a panel of "disguised Adam" not sporting his wonderful peacock feather, you, dear reader, will win a prize; The kind of prize that can't be bought with money or sent in the mail, and yet is as powerful and instantaneous as the rays of the sun: the intangible prize of...RESPECT!
So keep reading...I'm bound to trip up soon.

Enjoy.
Won't you?

Where's Lackey?
Jonah - May 11th, 2007

Space Waffles #6, "Where's Lackey?" is now up. Don't forget we also mirror over on Drunk Duck and we'd love to get your comments!

I have successfully moved pretty much everything over to the new computer, so I'm pretty stoked about that. This is the first full on update from there, and I must say things seem to run much smoother on the new machine.

I've now played up through episode 4 of Sam and Max and I really like how they are doing episodic content. It is a much contested medium, as no one had quite done it well as of yet. I think it's safe to say Sam and Max is setting that precedent.

Oh, and I finally scanned the couple of new pics in my Con Sketchbook, so check those out.

Scrapbook
Jeremy - May 10nd, 2007

Hey, gang. I just got done penciling the latest HTBR page and still need to apply the "virtual ink" from the amazing "pen that never runs dry", but it's coming along nicely.

In the meantime, why not peruse the only pictures I took during the Emerald City Comicon that didn't come out blurry or stupid.

Yes, it's time for: "Jeremy's Pirate Scrapbook O' Picture Photos and Stuff."

Enjoy, won't you?

PS - Don't forget Issue 2 is now available in Ye Olde Shoppe!

Digital Ink
Jonah - May 2nd, 2007

So the latest installment of HtbR has been completed inked digitally.
Jeremy wanted to let you guys know, but he hasn't had time to make a news post. It's a pretty big milestone for his art, as he started the comic doing everything the old fashioned way from the penceling to the lettering, etc.

I was pretty excited today as my new computer arrived. I've been trying it out, but I still need to install all the programs to run the site, etc. It's a Vista machine, so it's going to take a bit of getting used to. It is a much more powerful machine than the laptop.

Two in a Row!
Jonah - April 26th, 2007

Two updates in a row, I'm on fire or something.
I considered holding off the update, but hey, if it's done, why make you guys wait?

Here are some odd but funny comics I've been reading lately:

Kitty Litter

Anything Could Happen

Horribleville

MadScott

Issue 2 Now in the Store!
Jonah - April 25th, 2007

Issue 2 is now in the store, and Space Waffles #4 is up!

We were given a piece of fan art last year and didn't know who it was that gave it to us, but turns out it was an artist that goes by the name of Lady Mars, and since she put up with her art being listed as "anonymous" for a year, I thought I'd plug her Deviant Art account.

Drunk Duck has added some cool new features to their site. There are now user profiles where you can show off your friend's list but more importantly show off your recommended DD comics. I think it's a great addition to the site and you should all go check it out.

Jesse and Geoffio have launched a new site for their music project Noise and A Beat. There two finished songs are free for download and they have more in the works! You can also go post on their forum and let them know what you think.

Oh, and the very few pics Brittany took while we were at Emerald City are now on my flickr page. Jeremy took several more, but I don't have those yet.

It's time to put this hiatus on hiatus!
Jeremy - April 20th, 2007

HTBR page 14 is done!

Actually it wasn't so much a hiatus as just a case of a million things happening at once. And by a million I mean two.

First, of course, was the Emerald City Comicon, but you already know all about that.

Second, was that immediately following that event, my wife and I moved. Fortunately, we have an office/studio now and it will be a lot easier to get some work done, so I'm really excited about that.

Anyway, thanks for your patience and I hope you like the latest page. It's a groundbreaking one for me because about half of it was digitally inked and digitally lettered. Yes, I'm finally getting used to this Wacom tablet and I'm starting to really put it to good use. It is now actually saving me time instead of mercilessly sucking it away.

Vote for JT
Jonah - April 20th, 2007

I had every intention of working on the next few Space Waffles strips, which I already have scripted, but I've been hit hard with allergies all week and it's wiped my clean out. After dinner tonigth I pretty much passed out until after 9pm. So, being groggy and with little to no motivation left, I instead watched the Rifftrax for the season premier of Lost.
It was a bit of an odd choice for a Rifftrax, but it was funny nonetheless.
I did finally get a chance to fix the typo in panel 3 of strip 2. Changing the "does" to "doesn't" should fix that confusing joke.

Our good friend JT Shea (The Gigcast) is taking part in NPR's talent quest and you should go vote for him!

Pirate Bathroom
Jonah - April 11th, 2007

You need to check out this awesome pirate themed bathroom. I'm not even kidding.
The best part, in my humble opinion, would be the poster above the toilet. Yes, that is one of our con exclusive Issue 1 cover posters, framed and everything!
(Thanks go to Melissa Leff for letting me link to the pics. Thanks Melissa, you rock!)

Man, it's been a crazy week since the con. It took me pretty much all week to catch up on sleep. Then just as I'm starting to feel a bit more normal, I get this crazy thing where my eye swells up and I went to the walk-in clinic. Turns out it wasn't too big a deal, but it sure was able to freak me out!
Jeremy supposedly finished his move over the weekend, but I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet, and I'm not sure if he'll have internet access right away. I know he's working on the next couple of pages of HtbR, but their may be a bit longer of a delay than anticipated. Thanks for being patient, everyone.

In the meantime be sure to check out my new comic Space Waffles, which I just updated, and also my new blog! Leave comments! I dare you!

The Con has Come and Gone...
Jeremy - April 5th, 2007

This is just a big thanks to everyone who attended the Emerald City Comicon last weekend. What an awesome crowd!
It's such a buzz of activity when you're in the midst of it, that it takes a few days before you can really stop and reflect on how much fun it was. One thing is for sure: Here There Be Robots fans are the coolest of fans. Our ragtag team really had a lot of fun meeting everybody. One of the things that made this Con so exciting was seeing people come back who had bought the first issue last year. They actually came back! And didn't want a refund! Cool!
Also, seeing people discover the comic for the first time is always a thrill. We really are trying to make something a little different from the norm and yet appealing to a wide audience. I really don't thing there's a target age for this comic. I mean, our first 2 customers were around 11 years old (they had me sketching like a madman. I think they now work for PVP), and our last customer of the last day looked to be around 90 (thanks for buying that poster, sir). I'd say that's a pretty good age bracket.
It was also great seeing so many of our fellow artists there, too; What a talented bunch all housed in one giant flourescently-lit building.

Con pictures will be coming later, as well as the next HTBR page. I'm in the process of moving, so this week will be a little crazy. But it will all pay off when I finally have a comfortable drawing area that isn't wedged between my bed and a wall! Oh, yea!

Thanks again!

See You Tomorrow!
Jonah - March 31st, 2007

As I've been repetedly pimping for the last month, we will be at the Emerald City ComiCon this weekend.
We're in the Artist's Alley at table #194. Stop by our table for a free RPC 3 Skull Logo sticker!
You can get the floor plan here.

We hope to see you there!

Space Waffles Launches
Jonah - March 28th, 2007

I finally finished my first page of Space Waffles.
I know I have a long way to go on the road to being a "real cartoonist", but it's a start.
You can leave feedback over at my blog.

Emerald City ComiCon is this weekend and we hope to see you all there!

New Blog
Jonah - March 22nd, 2007

I still haven't added a link here on the site, but I have started a new blog which can be found at http://spacewaffles.wordpress.com

I have a new comic strip project in the works and I'll be posting the details as they come out over on the blog.

Page 13 Done
Jeremy - March 19th, 2007

This is one of those scenes where I had to frequently refer to the first issue to preserve the visual continuity. It was kind of fun to take things that have already happened and show them from different angles and perspectives (Actually, depending on how you look at it, the scenes have already happened, haven't happened yet, and are currently happening all at the same time...I mean...if you want to get technical).
Anyway, I especially like how panel 3 turned out, mostly because I've been wanting to draw Lackey's disillusioned expression when he suddenly realizes how grossly underpaid he is.*

*see issue 1, page 12

Enjoy!

Con Update 2
Jonah - March 19th, 2007

I got word last week of some very cool things.
First of all, it seems both our new stickers as well as our re-prints of The Map Incident will be available at the Con.
I've also ordered several new button designs, which should be here next week.
